Our Vision

The Council is responsible to provide for the needs of the community. In doing so it must undertake such activity as to promote a safe and healthy community while at the same time promoting the importance of the culture of the people of Gapuwiyak and the homelands.

Our vision is to have a community that can prosper through :

• the activities of its people;
• the preservation of its culture;
• the nurturing of its children; and
• the promotion of a Gapuwiyak lifestyle.

We aim to have a safe & healthy environment for all to live in at Gapuwiyak so everyone can live their local culture while at the same time learning about the other cultural ways through genuine contact outside the community.
